Chapel
Chapel provides an opportunity for worship, for learning in an inspirational context, and for the creation of community. This contributes to the spiritual development of the student as a significant part of his or her total preparation for ministry. Chapel programs are presented once each week.
|
|
 |
-
All students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to participate.
-
Participation is required for students enrolled for nine (9) or more hours AND degree-seeking students.
-
Attendance is taken at each chapel. The expectation is that the student will
be present for the
entire worship time,
both large and small
group, in order to receive credit for attendance. If a student arrives after attendance is taken or leaves before the conclusion of chapel s/he is counted absent.
-
Students will receive a pass or fail grade (P/F) based on attendance.
-
No more than four (3) absences are permitted per semester.
-
More than four (3) absences will result in a failing grade for chapel and disciplinary probation.
-
A student receiving chapel probation will be permitted to participate in chapel activities during the next semester.
-
A student who fails chapel during the probation semester will be suspended from school.
CHURCH INVOLVEMENT
Because of YBC’s strong commitment to the Christian faith, each student is expected to become actively involved in a local church. The college desires to see each student become consistent in church attendance, in sharing the responsibilities of a local church, putting faith into action, and maturing as a Christian. |
