Yellowstone Baptist College, as an undergraduate theological college, exists to teach and train our students to follow Christ’s example in becoming servant leaders wherever He leads (John 13: 1-17 & Matthew 28:19-20).

Yellowstone Baptist College’s programs emphasize biblical studies complemented by liberal arts and professional education. Its educational climate fosters development of intellectual and spiritual maturity, cultural awareness, leadership potential, and a sense of world mission.

Objectives

We believe that YBC should provide the student with the finest teaching, instructional resources, and support services the college can supply. YBC pledges to attempt to inculcate in him or her the following, which contribute to effective Christian leadership:

Spiritual Growth Goal- To assist the student in internalizing spiritual disciplines.

Practical Growth Goal- To assist the student in mastery of a specialized body of information essential to development of skills necessary for Christian leadership.

Intellectual Growth Goals- 1) To communicate a general core of information to aid in the practice of Christian leadership; and 2) To communicate a body of biblical and theological information which has been deemed necessary to educate Christian leaders.

Physical Growth Goal- To assist the student in maintaining a health fitness program.

Social Growth Goal- To assist the student in expressing the love of Christ through servanthood.

*A disciple-making Christian leader is a Christian with a life worth emulating who commits himself/herself for an extended period of time to friendship with a few individuals who have been won to Christ, the purpose being to facilitate their spiritual growth so they can multiply themselves in a third spiritual generation as fellow disciple-making Christian leaders. (This is adapted from Allen Hadidian's definition of discipling.)

Objectives A graduate of Yellowstone Baptist College should be able to: Demonstrate skill in developing disciple-making Christian leaders.* Apply disciple-making principles to the leadership of a local church or a Christian organization. Communicate a comprehensive knowledge of the Bible. Articulate a Christian worldview. Integrate theoretical and experiential knowledge in a chosen field of service. Express an appreciation for Western Civilization and other cultural heritages. Applicant status is a pre-membership status granted to those institutions that meet the ABHE Conditions of Eligibility and that possess such qualities as may provide a basis for achieving candidate status within four years.
